Who is the Viper HD 3000 for?
Elk, mule deer, sheep and pronghorn hunters who regularly range animals past 400 yards, and bowhunters in steep terrain who need true angle-compensated distances on big up- or downhill shots.
How far can the Viper HD 3000 range a deer?
Vortex rates it to 2,000 yards on deer, 2,300 yards on trees and 3,000 yards on reflective targets, so it reaches well beyond any responsible shot distance and gives you headroom in poor light.
Viper HD 3000 vs Razor HD 4000: which should you buy?
The Razor HD 4000 adds reach (2,200 yds on deer, 4,000 reflective) and tighter accuracy (±0.5 yd at 100 yds). For most hunting inside 800 yards, the Viper HD 3000 delivers the same practical result for $100 less.
