Who is the Pro 2400C for?

Whitetail, elk and pronghorn hunters who want long reach and a bright red display without paying premium-brand prices.

Why a red OLED display?

Red OLED stays readable against dark timber and in low light, and the five brightness levels let you dim it at dawn so it does not wash out the view.

Pro 2400C vs Leupold RX-1400i Gen 2

Both range deer to about 900 yards. The Leupold is smaller and adds TBR/W holdover; the Pro 2400C has a red OLED display and more reflective range.

How do you get accurate readings with the Cabela’s Pro 2400C?

Brace your hands against a tree, a shooting stick or your binocular harness, put the aiming reticle on the animal’s shoulder rather than its outline, and hold the button in scan mode for a second so you can watch the reading settle. In brush, use last-target mode so twigs in front of the animal are ignored. In open country, first-target or best mode picks the closest solid object. Cold drains lithium batteries quickly, so carry a spare CR2 or CR123 in an inside pocket from November on. Finally, range a few known landmarks from your stand before the hunt and write them down: if a deer steps out, you already know the distance.
