Description
Vortex Razor HD 16-48×65 Spotting Scope: HD glass, 65 mm objective, about 3 lb. A lighter Razor for hunters who hike.97.
The 65 mm Razor HD hits the middle ground many hunters want: noticeably brighter and sharper at 40x than a 50–56 mm compact, yet about a pound lighter than an 85 mm full-size scope. This is the earlier-generation Razor HD 65 mm model, now offered at a lower price.

Who is the Razor HD 16-48×65 for?
Hunters who hike to glassing spots but do not want to give up the image quality of a premium scope, and hunters upgrading from a budget 60–65 mm scope.
65 mm or 85 mm?
Choose 65 mm if you carry the scope more than a mile or two; choose 85 mm, such as the Razor HD 27-60×85, if you glass mostly from a vehicle or base camp and want the brightest image.
How should you set up the Vortex Razor HD 16-48×65 for glassing?
Set the tripod so the eyepiece sits at eye level when you are seated or standing comfortably; craning your neck ruins long sessions. Start at the lowest magnification to find animals, then zoom in only to judge them, because low power gives the brightest, widest and steadiest view. Focus on something at the same distance as your target, adjust the eyecup until the full image is visible without dark edges, and glass in a slow grid pattern from near to far. In heat shimmer, back the zoom off: a sharp image at 25x shows more than a wavy one at 60x.
