Description
Kowa Tsn-55 Prominar Spotting Scope: ultra-compact 17-40×55 angled spotting scope with pure fluorite crystal, about 10 in long and 34 oz. Made in Japan.
The TSN-55 packs Kowa’s Prominar fluorite optics into a scope about the length of a water bottle. The integrated wide-angle zoom (17-40x) gives a bright 3.2 mm exit pupil at low power for finding animals at dawn, and the dual focus knob lets you switch between quick and precise focusing.

Who is the TSN-55 for?
Sheep, goat and backcountry elk hunters, and anyone who wants a premium scope that fits in a daypack side pocket.
Is 40x enough on a compact scope?
Yes for most hunting. At 40x the image from a 55 mm objective is still crisp in good light, and heat haze often limits practical magnification to around 30–40x anyway.
TSN-55 vs Swarovski ATC
Both are premium 55–56 mm compacts with a 17-40x zoom. The Swarovski ATC is a one-piece angled scope of similar weight; the Kowa uses fluorite crystal and offers dual focus.
