Who is the Core S-4K for?
Hunters who want a fast, long-lasting, invisible-flash SD card camera with 4K video at a mid-range price.
Where should you set up the Core S-4K?
Strap it to a tree 3–4 ft high and about 16–28 ft from the trail, scrape or feeder you want to watch, angled slightly across the travel route rather than straight at it. With a 80-ft detection range it can cover a food plot edge, but most of the sharpest photos come from the first 30–40 ft. Face it north or south where possible so sunrise and sunset do not trigger false images or blow out the frame.
How do you get the best photos from the Core S-4K?
Set the camera to hybrid mode during the rut so each trigger gives you a still for quick scanning and a 4K clip for judging antlers and behavior. Use lithium AA batteries in cold weather (Bushnell advises against rechargeable AAs in this model), format the SD card in the camera before each deployment, and set the PIR sensitivity to high in cold weather and medium in summer heat to reduce missed or false triggers. Point it north or south so low sun does not flare the lens at dawn and dusk.
